| Introduction | My name is Tiara Nataf. I was born on Curacao, a beautiful tiny island in the Caribbean. Curacao has inspired me to create a ideas in the form of jewellery. I started making jewellery with my friends when I was a little girl. I was so infatuated with my new hobby that I even brought my beads to school and was making simple little bracelets during the break. While my friends grew out of it, I was becoming more and more fascinated by beads. What started as a hobby grew into a passion. I have been designing and making jewellery for about 10 years. Infact, most of the skills I use at the moment are self-taught. What is incredible for me in this process is how just a few primitive materials can turn into a fascinating wearable piece of art. Also working with colour is a great way to reflect my ideas. I work with shades of one colour, and I like to use colours that seem to be incompatible and make it look magical. The materials that I use mostly include an assortment of elegant Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls, and carefully selected gemstones. |
