Introduction I am an imaging engineer transitioning from the industry to academia and from computational sciences to neuroscience. My specific research interest is in the columnar organization of the neocortex: neuronal connectivity, dynamics, and plasticity. My interest in moirés and shadows arose from engineering problems, but I have found that their use in arts is far from its full potential.
Interests Neuroscience, emergence, consilience, extelligence, intelligence, human evolution, macrohistory, consciousness, long now, E-prime, hang gliding, moire synthesis, moire patterns, shadow sculpture, sundials, gnomonics
