Introduction Born England. Citizen of USA. Spent last 30 years researching cybersecurity and data privacy. Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) since 1996. Hoping to close the cybersecurity skills gap by encouraging women and minorities to enter the profession (#HeForShe). Happy to be part of the global security research team at ESET, one of the world's largest security software companies. (These blog posts are mine and the views expressed in them are mine.) What else? Wrote a bunch of technology books, like how to use software and networks, also security and privacy books. Started two successful security companies. Produced an award-winning documentary about civil rights (file under: made no money, but did make a difference). Tried to raise awareness of hemochromatosis, the most common genetic killer in the Western world (that permanently disabled my partner). Went back to school a few years ago to get my MSc in Security and Risk Management from the Criminology Department of the University of Leicester, England.
