Gender Female
Occupation Executive Director
Location Ferndale, MI, United States
Introduction While studying journalism at Michigan State University seeking a degree in Journalism, I worked part-time teaching horseback riding lessons. At the barn, I met Casey, a young girl whose journey with cancer affected my life tremendously. After Casey’s death, I set out to do something to commemorate her life and love for horses. What was supposed to be a one-day affair for children at Sparrow Hospital has turned into an ongoing therapeutic horse program for kids with cancer throughout all of Michigan. Today, I serve as Executive Director of Camp Casey and oversee all aspects of the program. I currently reside in Ferndale with my husband, Nick, our cat Peach, and our rescued pit bull, Cowgirl. I was the first baby of the new year in Detroit in 1983 and consider myself an optimist with a practical grasp of the world. I prefer spontaneity and find routine boring.
