Introduction I am a former art student who works on the edge of the arts as a custom picture framer and general help at an independent art store. I love it, but I needed a fire lit under my butt to continue all my artsy fartsy endeavors. So I created this blog with the challenge of spending one hour per day on something related to arts and/or crafts. This may include drawings, paintings, crochet projects, sewing projects, and occasional baking projects. I am hoping to ignite my creativity to create beautiful and/or useful (or delicious) things. My goal is to use cheap, repurposed, thrifted, or items I have at home already in order to reduce spending and waste. My dear husband Mark and I are looking for a house, so projects may be directed to home improvement. Cheap, pretty, and awesome are my goals!
Interests Drawing, Painting, Baking, Crochet, sewing, fashion, DIY, shoes/purses, listening to music (and singing along), reading, yoga, walking/pretending to run, eating the world's best popcorn (made by my dear hubby)
Favorite Movies Back to the Future, Moulin Rouge, Rushmore, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Star Wars (all of them), When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, Doctor Who (Tv, I know, but so awesome he needs mention)
Favorite Music The Beatles, The Kinks, Simon and Garfunkel, Weezer, Green Day, Coconut Records, The Shins
Favorite Books The entire Harry Potter series, Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, A Christmas Carol...hmmm...there are others which escape me at the moment...

If your whole body were a hot air balloon, would you stop eating spicy food?

I would not stop eating spicy food, as the gas the spicy food causes would help keep me afloat.
