About me

Introduction My name is Stephenie Haehnel. I am a teacher looking for a teaching position in elementary or middle school. Before I was a teacher, I worked as a chemist. I completed my student teaching at McCleery Elementary in West Aurora, and received my MATC from Aurora University in December, 2005. After graduation, I worked as a substitute teacher for Oswego, Yorkville, Minooka, West Aurora, and the Kendall County Co-op. As an Instructional Aide at Grande Reserve Elementary School, I assisted two first grade teachers. I spent half a day with each teacher, where I lead reading groups, math groups, and creative writing groups. I did individual tutoring to bring a student up to grade level in math and supervised lunch and recess every day. Currently, I am a teacher at the Huntington Learning Center in Oswego where I teach small groups and do one on one instruction in math and science, including helping to prepare students for the ACT. This website contains my work as a teacher, and I welcome your comments.
