Brielle and Me: Our Journey

About me

Occupation Homemaker & Mother!
Location Georgia, United States
Introduction I graduated a year early from high school, graduated a semester early from a major university in the Midwest, and then married my high school sweetheart in the spring of 1990. I received my master’s degree in 1993 and had our first child in 1994. In 1995, I was a mother of a toddler working at an HMO in their marketing department. My life changed dramatically when our second daughter, Brielle, was born effected by CMV (cytomegalovirus). I quit my career and became a stay-at-home mother when she was six months old to focus my time and attention to Brielle. I enjoy scrapbooking, time with friends and family, signing (not singing) for my church’s Praise Team, and am working on finishing the first rough draft of a book about our experiences with CMV and CP with the help of a writer’s group. I have also recently taken up acrylic painting (which I have more enthusiasm for than I have time). I live in a northern suburb of Atlanta, GA with my husband, Brian (married 22 years), 18-year-old daughter, Ashley (who is about to leave for college in the fall of 2012), Brielle (now 16), and our white Miniature Schnauzer, Cooper.
