Occupation Neighborhood Association / Preservation Group
Location Smyrna, Georgia, United States
Introduction The Forest Hills Preservation Group Inc. was founded in the year 2000 as a voluntary association of homeowners, committed to preserving and promoting the unique character and quality of life in the Forest Hills neighborhood in Smyrna, Georgia. The group is committed to the protection of the neighborhood’s current low-density zoning categories, and works through it’s various committees and programs to showcase and encourage the renovation and remodeling of the older homes that characterize the area. Through a quarterly newsletter the FHPG purposes to keep it’s membership informed of relevant community news, with emphasis on issues that speak to the unique character of Forest Hills, it’s history, and the importance of it’s preservation. Through education and community action, it also works to conserve the neighborhood’s natural resources and it’s abundant wildlife habitat. And finally, through the work of it’s various committees, the group purposes to provide opportunities for fellowship and community service, that creates a pride in and appreciation for the natural setting and traditional neighborhood lifestyle afforded Forest Hills residents.
