| Introduction | Mathew Pierce O'Donnell began painting as a boy in Van Buren, Maine where he was born in 1949. Encouraged by his father, who also painted, and inspired by his rural surroundings Mat continued to paint after his family moved to Bangor when he was 13. Following high school, O'Donnell attended The Maine College of Art in Portland and The Boston Fine Art Museum School before getting his Bachelor of Science Degree at The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1977. A skilled carpenter and musician as well as a versatile artist who is proficient in a variety of mediums and subject matter, O'Donnell lives in Wiscasset, Maine with his wife Pam. He paints every day he can. |
