| Introduction | I've always enjoyed and participated in the Adventures of Art. Scribbling early earned me my nickname Maryangelo. My first photography escapade was with black and white film, lingering in the vintage charm of the darkroom when I was just sixteen under the tutelage of a great kilt-wearing man. I then devoured the visionary, satisfying ways of the new digital world. Too easily are we caught up in the quick, whirling ways of digital. The darkroom taught me to breathe, to revel in God's blessings, and to find a story worth telling, which doesn't come first in the paintbrushes or clones of Photoshop. The most beautiful stories start simply with just the subjects... a doting couple, a blushing Bride and Groom, a radiant soon-to-be Mom, a sweet baby, a welcoming family... Such things are what make life wonderful and what are worth preserving through film. |
