|I am happily a representational figurative artist from Rhode Island. In my previous professional life I was an illustrator still known for the Jem art for Hasbro. I spent a good part of my life in commercial art segueying into portraiture and then out. Presently I am painting life sized paintings of rather funky dancers clothed in costumes somewhat reminicient of Degas, but a bit updated. I am not interested in rehashing Degas, but like him am interested in the dance because I can use pretty costumes and girls. It is his exquisite color harmonies that inspire me, not at all the trite rehashes I have seen of his work.
