Introduction I am a lecturer in conservation of archaeological artefacts at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London. My research refers to the dynamics surrounding the control of cultural material held by museums and related institutions. My main aim is explore how the use of collections and artefacts can act as tools of empowerment and social changeI have a special interest in collections originated by Indigenous Peoples from the Americas, investigative conservation, South American archaeology, public outreach, ethics and politics of conservation. I am also interested in the conservation of waxes and plant materials, the manufacture and conservation of Pre-Colombian gold and representations of the human body.
