Introduction I am an Indian, born in 1984.I am a poet and an engineer in the field of IT. My first book of poetry entitled One Hundred Poems has been published by Writers Workshop, a reputed publishing outlet. My other interests include painting, singing, reading, listening to music, making friends and window shopping.
Favorite Music I like any music that appeals to my ears, irrespective of the genre. Among English songs John Denver's 'Leaving On A Jet Plane', 'Anne's Song', Bgees' 'Words' are my all time favourites. I like to listen to Indian classical music, especially to the beats of tabla. Among Hindi film songs I find the music of Sagar, 1942 A Love Story, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kal Ho na Ho melodious. Among Bengali songs I love Rabindranath Tagore's devotional songs, D.L.Roy's patriotic songs and some Bangla rock.
Favorite Books My favourite poems are Zima Junction by Yevtoshenko, No Coward Soul Of Mine by Emily Bronte, One Word Is Too Often Profaned by P.B. Shelley and The Daffodils by William Wordsworth. My favourite fictions are The Hungry Tide by Amitav Ghosh, Life Of Pi by Yann Martel, The Alchemist by Paulo Ceolo, all Harry Potter books, short stories by Maupassant and Roald Dahl. Sesher Kobita by Rabindranath Tagore, Pather Panchali by Bibhutubhuson Bodhyopadhya are my favourite Bengali fictions. The non fictions I like are City Of Djinns by William Darlymple, A Yankee And The Swamis by John Yale, Ignited Minds by A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Sei Sob Din(Bengali)by Gajendranath Mitra, Thakurbarir Andormohol(Bengali)by Chitra Deb.
