About me

Gender Male
Occupation Green Birder
Location Romsley, Worcestershire, United Kingdom
Introduction My name is Gary Prescott, THE Biking Birder, a 65 year old retired school teacher with a passion for nature. Over the last 11 years I have been on 5 Biking Birder adventures. This one promises to be my toughest yet. Another Biking Birder adventure approaches, BBVI. The plan is to cycle for the whole of 2022, 1/1 to 31/12, trying to find as many bird species as possible & build a long Green Birding Year List. My aim is become the BIGBY, Big Green Big Year, European Champion and to become this I need to see & identify 305 different bird species. The current BIGBY European Champion is a wonderful Spaniard, Ponc Feliu Latorre. During the BIGBY I am trying also to raise money for two incredible and vital charities. To say thank you to the thousands of children I had the privilege of teaching over the decades, I am raising money for an amazing Childrens' Hospice in my beloved Birmingham, ACORNS CHILDREN'S HOSPICE. To help nature, especially BIRDS, I am fundraising for the fabulous environmental charity, the RSPB, the magnificent Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. PLEASE use the links below to make a donation. THANKS.
