Introduction Laurie Manville has been teaching English and English Language Development (ELD) for the past 18 years, beginning at Arcadia High School in Los Angeles County. More recently, she has supported students’ acquisition of English as a certified key trainer for Project GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) for both Orange County and San Diego County Departments of Education. Laurie holds a BA in English, and a single subject teaching credential in English with the Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) certificate. She has also completed a significant portion of a Master of Arts degree in applied linguistics, which she hopes to finish after her littlest daughter finishes kindergarten!
