| Introduction | Why "TME2LRN?" Because we all learn every day. It's always time to learn! A bit about me -- my background is in radio broadcasting and higher education. After working on the air in radio in southern California, I taught radio broadcasting at Fullerton College. Many of my former students have been successful in media careers. My students were all ages, from 18-year olds fresh out of high school to those in their 40's and 50's pursuing a new career. While teaching, I became curious about how people learn throughout their lives. So I studied higher education and adult learning at the Claremont Graduate University and earned my Ph.D. My career focus broadened to adult and lifelong learning, but I always kept my interest in broadcasting and media because of my belief that people learn not just in formal educational settings, but through all forms of mass media and personalized media. Today there are so many opportunities for us to continue learning through new media, including online media streaming media, podcasts, and others. In this blog I will explore lifelong learning opportunities and challenges for all of us. |
