About me

Location Oak Harbor, WA, United States
Introduction I'm passionate about art. I've been drawing, painting, and making prints for many years. Woodcut relief is the oldest form of printmaking. I use sharp tools to carve into a wooden block and then use a hand press to ink each piece separately. Most of my flower and bird prints are based on what I see in my garden and around Whidbey Island. My art is a dialogue with the natural world. I never try to copy the view in front of me. Instead, I try to interpret the beauty and wonder of what I see. As George Bellows, stated "the artist is the person who makes life more interesting or beautiful, more understandable or mysterious, or probably, in the best sense, more wonderful."
