Introduction | I'm passionate about art. I've been drawing, painting, and making prints for many years. Woodcut relief is the oldest form of printmaking. I use sharp tools to carve into a wooden block and then use a hand press to ink each piece separately. Most of my flower and bird prints are based on what I see in my garden and around Whidbey Island. My art is a dialogue with the natural world. I never try to copy the view in front of me. Instead, I try to interpret the beauty and wonder of what I see. As George Bellows, stated "the artist is the person who makes life more interesting or beautiful, more understandable or mysterious, or probably, in the best sense, more wonderful." |
