| Introduction | POLICY * VISION * OVERSIGHT * EXPERIENCE - John Sims was elected to the Cooper City Commission in March of 2007. Presently, he is serving as the Commissioner of Dist. One, representing the entire city, and challenging the typical role and status quo of local government. Commissioner Sims is a business, operations and management professional with many years of in-depth knowledge and experience required to manage local government operations providing oversight, vision, efficiency and accountability. Commissioner Sims has the hands on experience to effectively address and resolve the current moral, legal and political issues facing Cooper City, its residents and business owners, and to ensure that Cooper City remains more than 'Someplace Special' to live for our future generations. Advocating lower taxes, fewer regulations, and a smaller, less-intrusive government is his goal. His philosophy is that we need problem solvers in city hall, not problem creators, and that there is no more fundamental issue in our Republic than The People's trust in the honesty and integrity of its local government and elected officials. He will continue to take whatever steps necessary to keep it that way. |
