Introduction When it comes to working in my studio, I often find myself designing, pondering and sorting my ideas as I am working on the wheel. I gather snippets of inspiration from here and there but mainly from organic raw elements, muted tones and textures found in nature. I like my wares to be simple, yet elegant, in form. My work is thrown on the potter's wheel, with stoneware clay, and the surface is altered with botanical-themed carvings or stenciled designs blocked out with wax-resist. I try to incorporate the bare clay body into the finished surface of my work. The work is mid-fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln and finished with earth-toned glazes. Aside from the "zen" I find from the process of working on the wheel, I love to create my wares knowing that they will find love in their new homes. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramics and have been working with clay and throwing on the wheel for 10 years. I continue to nurture my love, knowledge and skills with clay as I pour my energy into each piece I create.
Interests living in the present moment, making pottery, yoga, being inspired by others, spending time with my sweet husband, lovely friends and family.
