Introduction Asthmatic childhood fostered indoor hobbies of reading and writing. Have six kids (mostly adult now), four adult stepchildren, six grandchildren (bio and step), six godchildren, and six cats. Co-founded (with husband Ron) the Higher Ark youth group. Charter member of St. John Kronstadt Eastern Orthodox Mission Church in Channahon, IL. Taught features writing for two years at a homeschool coop, with the students' work published in the co-op magazine and the Herald News in Joliet, IL. (I know, not the typical vampire author bio).
Interests Theology, reading, writing, homeschooling, homemaking, and cooking. Yeah, I'm pretty dull, except to me).
Favorite Movies Wide and varied, no specific genre. Prefer great writing and developed characters to special effects. "Melody, " "Miracle of Marcelino, " "Agony & Ecstasy, " "Death at a Funeral, " Dan Curtis' "Turn of the Screwn" and anything Monty Python and Goodies first come to mind as repeat favorites.
Favorite Music Christian rock, especially Petra, Sanctus Real, Relient K, and Remedy Drive.
Favorite Books Pre and early 20th century vampire stories and stories with a twist, especially anything by O. Henry, "Mrs. Mike, " and "Testimony of Two Men." Y/A: "A Candle in her Room, " "Jane-Emily, " "The Ghost Next Door."

When your science teacher smashed a frozen rose with a hammer, did you warm the petals to bring them back to life?

Interesting question, considering Bryony is a vampire novel and it features purple roses. Fan fiction, anyone?
