Introduction	I am a pediatric perfusionist at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. I operate the heart-lung bypass machine that replaces the function of the patient's heart and lungs while they are undergoing cardiac surgery. Our cardiac surgery team has partnered with Tenwek Hospital in Kenya to help develop a cardiac surgery program for the 600,000 people in Western Kenya that this missions hospital cares for.
