| Introduction | Hails from southern India. Obtained Ph. D from Bombay University in Field Ornithology under Salim Ali. Undertaken field ornithological research in Himalayas, Andamans, Nicobar Islands and other parts of India. Done pioneering R and D work at 22 Indian airports on the ecological control of bird strike to aircraft. Was invited to i. recommend ways to minimize possible impact of migratory birds at the new Kuala Lumpur international airport., ii. offer recommendations to conserve birds in Sarawak; and iii. prepare a management plan to develop the bird potential of a national wetland of Malaysia. Undertook research on the water birds of Kanyakumari district and Koonthakulam bird sanctuary. Together with his wife, Shailaja, he has been creating awareness on birds and their habitats. Written a pictorial book to identify wetland birds. Also wrote a book on Tamil language. His research efforts have prompted the government to notify Suchindram-Theroor-Manakudy Conservation Reserve. Invited to prepare a management plan for this Reserve. Has a strong urge to help fellow humans to strive for a healthier body and mind/soul.
