Introduction I'm a book publishing attorney and former publishing executive. I work with bestselling authors, leading literary agencies, literary estates, producers, and book publishers on contract drafting and negotiation, copyright / fair use, film options, and permissions. I review (vet) manuscripts for libel and privacy issues. I work with publishers, authors, and agents (on behalf of their clients) on trademark and branding issues, including trademark clearance searches and preparation of trademark applications. Before becoming a publishing attorney, I was director of publicity for a division of Simon & Schuster. As a result, clients gain access to all of the knowledge, counsel, and advocacy I can provide. I am co-author of The Copyright Permission & Libel Handbook (John Wiley). When I graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, I worked as an attorney for Viacom International. I am a member of the New York and New Jersey bars, a member of the Trademark Unfair Competition Committee of the Bar of the City of New York, The Authors Guild, and sit on the advisory board of Beacon Press.
