| Introduction | Stan Brewer - publisher, editor, reporter, photojournalist I began my career as an investigator and photographer in 1984 when I founded a company that worked to uncover allegations of workers’ compensation fraud for some of the world’s largest insurance companies and self-insured corporations. Clients included Cigna, Hartford, Travelers, Fireman’s Fund, Westmoreland Coal Company, WIX Corporation, Evans & Dixon, Gallagher Bassett, Road Master, AIG, and ITT Specialty Risk Services, to name only a few. I continued in this fashion for more than 20 years and accomplished everything that I wanted to do in that industry. By 2005 I was ready for something new, so I returned to school to study journalism and began doing reporting and photography for newsgathering organizations. I am currently launching a new online publication, InsiderIowa.com. We will cover the things about Iowa that the newspapers do not. I am member of the National Press Photographers Association, the Society of Professional Journalists and the International Documentary Association. |
