IntroductionMurray Dunlap's work has appeared in Virginia Quarterly Review, Post Road, Night Train, Silent Voices, Smokelong Quarterly, Silent Voices, Red Mountain Review, Fried Chicken and Coffee, New Delta Review, The Bark, and many others. His stories have been twice nominated for the Pushcart Prize, as well as Best New American Voices, and his first book, "Alabama," was a finalist for the Maurice Prize in Fiction. He is currently working on a non-fiction-ish book and recovering from a near-death experience in a terrifyingly dangerous car accident (as seen above). The brilliant Pam Houston taught him the craft of writing. While he is talking up writers, he'd like to say that everyone should read the very, very gifted Michael Knight (who should be read by everyone as soon as possible for Jimminy Christmas!), Richard Bausch (an exceptional friend for having been so good at staying in touch through the recovery process), George Singleton (who is plain hilarious), and Laura Dave (such a friend). The writer now lives in Mobile, Alabama.
