| Introduction | I'm a high school teacher who enjoys hiking, biking, and camping but who lives to cook and bake! My specialty is treating dinner guests to long, elaborate menus comprised of foods I've never eaten or cooked before. (It usually works out!) The meals are often Shabbat dinners. Shabbat is the Jewish day of rest and is celebrated every week with family and friends. Observing Jewish law (halacha)is an important part of my life, so my quest to make good food from scratch (and sustainable sources) is also a quest to make good kosher food from scratch (and sustainable sources). This is pretty easy since I don't eat meat or poultry. |
