|Introduction||A recent transplant to the West Coast, I completed my masters of library information science this past year. I am seeking a position that is not necessarily in the realm of traditional libraries. Instead, I would like to use my research and organizational skills, perhaps combined with my writing talents, to work in an area that involves, to put it succinctly, making things “findable.” For instance, I enjoyed my internship with a digital library, cataloging various types of media (photographs, scholarly papers, newsletters, etc.) and writing abstracts to describe those media. I am also open to other types of work that involve digging around for information to answer questions. |
I’ve worked in a number of fields. My background is in communications, but I found that my strongest skills were in the area of research. I have also edited long publications with a medical focus and performed some design work for print, including logos, newsletters and coupon books.
I am currently working with a newswire service to write and edit SEO-friendly press releases that will be distributed to both general and specific markets.
