Introduction I am a husband to Karen; dad to Sarah, Amanda, Nathan, Robbie, David, Hannah and Joshua; and parish priest at Church of the Advent in Nashville, TN. I grew up in WV. I attended Hampden-Sydney College for my undergraduate degree in classical studies. I studied for two years at the University of Dallas' Institute of Philosophic Studies, where I worked on (that's right, I did not finish) a PhD in classical philosophy. Some thirteen years later, I completed my MDiv at Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry. I have also studied at St. Anne's (undergrad) and Wycliffe Hall (seminary) colleges at Oxford.
Interests Fantasy books and movies (Tolkien, Donaldson, Brooks, and Feist, ) Football, (particularly the Steelers, and Marshall University, ) Cross-stitching, Needlepoint, World of Warcraft, (I am a healing priest in that world and loathe horde rogues. Loathe!) Southpark, (despite the language) Bicycling, Reminding people that God is soverign in these activities as well as church
Favorite Movies Princess Bride, Highlander, (none after the original) The Matrix Series, (all 3) Hellboy, Alien, and Aliens, Most Pixar flicks, (hey, I have 6 kids) Lord of the Rings, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Star Trek VI and II
Favorite Music Beach Boys, (hey, don't laugh -- they had number one hits in five different decades!), Pretty much any Contemporary Christian music, (Casting Crowns, Toby Mac, Avalon, Phillips Craig & Dean, Jars of Clay, John Haller, Mark Harris, Chris Tomlin, etc) Ray Stevens, (again, don't laugh, he's had number one hit in three different genres, Bruce Hornsby, Jimmy Buffet, (tell people at his concert you are a priest -- lol), James Taylor
Favorite Books The Bible, (I mean, come on), The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant (1 & 2), Dune (the first four), The Riftwar & Serpent War sagas, as well of a number of the "fill in" books about Midkemia and Tsuranni, Frank Peretti books
