Introduction	All I ever wanted to be was a novelist. And suddenly I am a novelist. My first book, As It Was Written, will release in February from Thomas Dunne Books. This is why I am blogging.
Interests	I like to say, maybe because it's easy to roll of the tongue that my debut novel, As It Was Written, is the story of Dr. Raman Nair and his five fat daughters and the ancient Brahmin curse that follows them from India to the States. Sometimes they say it is "the dizzying tale that unfolds when men and women, Hindus and Catholics, histories and curses collide." I wrote that too, a long time back. My editor likes to say it's about the redemptive power of love. It really is.
