Introduction My ID card states it, I’m a Researcher! I have a doctoral degree in Agricultural Economics and Policy. I am currently focusing on issues related to food insecurity/food poverty in high-income countries, with a predominantly qualitative and mixed-methods approach. Throughout my career, I have been involved in local development studies, focusing on local development partnerships, fishing communities, traditional food products, and gastronomy tourism. I have explored social structures through the use of networks (SNA). However, I've always been curious about what lies behind a social network, the exact meaning of development, and how to promote local development effectively. In my quest for answers, I have conducted field research, following my instincts meeting people and talking to them. I have experimented with the use of a naturalistic approach, qualitative and visual research methods, which contain tools useful for doing research in a different way; something that goes beyond words and numbers and that, I instinctively discovered, depends on the ability to get "humanly" in touch with the others.
