Introduction Wester Désamours is an electric bassist from northern Haiti. Wester is becoming known as a virtuoso performer and composer. At the age of 4, a year later he made his own guitar with an oil drum, some wood and nylon strings. Wester's father was a guitar player. Wester made his debut as a performer with his uncles Harold and Remy Pierre. One of his fellow Beaux Arts students, Donnald Victorin (a gifted composer and performer on electric bass) influenced Wester to compose and perform on the bass guitar. Wester’s goal in composing for the electric bass is to take it from the realm of accompaniment and make it truly a solo instrument, to show it’s versatility. Wester earned his BA in 2007, part of the UCNH’s first Beaux Arts graduating class. Wester currently teaches on the Beaux Arts faculty at UCNH. This is Wester's debut album, his "first step." Wester’s bass solos are not “layered.” His solo bass parts are not built from dubbing layers of bass sound. His complex bass solo sound is recorded all at once! Wester expresses his gratitude to God saying “Jesus has done great things for me.” His goal was that this album be a source of joy and blessing to all who hear it.
