| Introduction | On April 12, 2010 Harper Elle Howard was born; three weeks latter she began having unexplained seizures. After a multitude of tests and travel across the US Harper was diagnosed with a rare, life threatening genetic disorder known as CDKL5. There are currently fewer than 300 cases worldwide. Most affected cannot walk, talk, feed themselves, and suffer with scoliosis, visual impairment, sensory issues and various gastrointestinal difficulties and sever physical developmental impairment. The severity of Harper's particular case is unknown, but we remain hopeful. She has been prescribed intense therapy and seizure control to aid in successful mental and physical development. Hope4Harper is an organization started to aid in her care. Although not a tax deductible charity, ALL monies generated by this organization are used to provide Harper care that might not otherwise be available to her. Harper's annual out of pocket medical expenses are estimated to be between $36,000 and $54,000.
