| Introduction | Newcastle Art Space (NAS) is an artist run initiative and non commercial, non profit gallery. Overseen by the volunteer gallery committee, the gallery is available on a rental basis and provides professional and accessible space for a diverse range of artistic practices and projects. NAS also co-ordinates and hosts the annual Newcastle Emerging Artist Prize (NEAP). The gallery itself consists of two separate rooms, G1 & G2, connected by a foyer area. In addition, G1 has been designed to allow separate, flexible areas within the one space. Exhibitions run in three week blocks and artists are responsible for all aspects of their exhibitions. Artists are not charged commission on the sale of work from Newcastle Art Space and the gallery accepts solo, group and curatorial proposals throughout the year. Newcastle Art Space is supported by the Newcastle Community Arts Centre. |
