| Introduction | The Summer Service Team is a mission team sent by the New Wilmington Mission Conference, a week-long, multi-generational, Presbyterian Church (USA)-related, mission conference held each summer since 1906 on the campus of Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania (one hour north of Pittsburgh). The focus is on youth ages 12 to 24, but all ages are welcome. Ordinarily 6–8 young adults are chosen each year to spend six weeks experiencing a different culture. They return just in time to share with the conference family what they have learned. All young adults who have been out of high school for one year and are not yet 24 are eligible. Interviews are scheduled during the annual conference. Applications are to be filed by September 1. Applicants are selected and notified following the fall board meeting in October. |
