Introduction My 73rd birthday was Oct 3! I am the mother of three terrific sons - Jeremy is 33, Alex is 35, Shawn is 47. I have been blessed with 2 precious grandchildren and two grandsons. My daughter-in-love, Laura, is wonderful.. I am happily divorced. I lost my position of 21 years as a forensic nurse for the city and county of San Francisco in a massive wave of budget cuts ( Feb 2009 )...so I have retired ( which makes me sad! ). Forensic nursing had been the passion of my life and has introduced me to some outstanding people all over the world. I wish I were the curvy, slim creature of my youth - both of my youngest sons have been trying to help me get back to some semblance of that but it seems pretty remote..though I have lost 50 pounds in the past few years. ..nonetheless, I am still enjoying life and will continue to do so until my last breath!! Did my 88th cruise ( most of them have been in the last 20 years ) - have been on ships all over the world - though I certainly enjoy travel by other means. Since Dec 2011, I have spent nearly 3 years in India, a country I have grown to love and can afford on a retiree's income!
Interests TRAVEL is number one, reading, writing, especially poetry ( in May 2010, I finally fulfilled a lifelong dream and published my first poetry book - "Life's Journey" is availabe at Amazon.com ), social networking, forensics, wine, fine dining and other dining as my figure can attest, cruising, cooking, international friendships, photography, enjoying the end of my life!
Favorite Movies Gone With the Wind, Shirley Valentine, Kama Sutra, An Affair to Remember, anything with Grace Kelly, lots of others but I rarely remember movie names...my friend Sherry Arndt, remembers every movie, song, artist - my brain is fried! I really like foreign films...and Bollywood! Thank heavens for Netflix so I can watch at home and rewind if I missed something on the subtitles!
Favorite Music All of Sony Holland's music..she is absolutely fabulous - sultry, sensuous, perfection on every song, whether jazz classics or the wonderful compositions of her husband, Jerry Holland. I have a great variety of musical tastes from country to jazz to some classical - love Il Divo and anything played by my favorite pianist, Shota Osabe. Am also a big fan of Margie Baker, Kimberlye Gold, Jonathan Poretz and Russ Lorensen, and Valeriana Quevedo great entertainers who play often in the San Francisco area.
Favorite Books Anything forensic, those by Jeffrey Deaver, James Patterson and my wonderful nurse colleague, Eileen Dreyer, Lisa See, Gone With The Wind, anything by Maeve Binchey.
