Introduction I am currently in my 17th year in education working with PreK-grade 5 students as a teacher librarian. All of my experiences and education have served me well in my current role. I have worked as a special educator with students with severe emotional needs in addition to the top performing students as an enrichment teacher. My current role as teacher librarian allows me to work with over 275 students in a fixed schedule. I believe that music and movement are key components to learning in the early education program. Every day I enter the school I hope to empower my students to love books and reading, in addition to becoming good digital citizens who use technology positively and safely to learn and share their learning. As far as becoming a mentor, I hope that I will be able to be a positive growth agent and empower my colleagues as they enter the profession to be successful in their own positions as they begin their career in the world of librarianship.
