| Introduction | I am, an electrical engineer and building services project manager. What that means is that if you are sitting in an office, school, hospital or hotel while reading this, have a look around: I, or someone like me designed the lighting layout, power distribution, life safety systems, etc. As we all know, with the rising price of fossil fuels and the worries regarding the use of Nuclear power, alternative energy and its increased use has become ever more important. A number of years ago I was carrying out research for a client on a project involving Anaerobic Digestion. As there are 4,500 AD plants in Germany alone, it occured to me that this technology that could easily be used in Ireland. I looked into it, spent a lot of time reseaching the process and started knocking on doors. I eventually found people who were willing to invest in both my idea and passion for the concept and this has resulted in AgrigriD. My fellow directors and I are very excited to be bringing this venture to the market and we hope that AgrigriD can be part of the re-growth of Ireland, providing truly renewable and sustainable energy and quality employment. |
