| Introduction | "For success in science and art a dash of autism is essential." --Hans Asperger In June 2010 My son RJ was diagnosed with PDD-NOS ( An Autism Spectrum disorder ASD). Just because my son has been labeled by the medical community does not make him any less special then any other child. He may not like to hear " Happy birthday" songs or people singing for that matter, or cushions on the couch or frames to be standing up. But he has an incredible perceptual view of the world and amazing hearing(Hypersensitve Hearing).. He gives the best hugs and kisses. Together we want to spread acceptance and awareness.. This disorder needs more attention than it is receiving in order to help decrease the numbers that continue to increase for unknown causes. This is going to be the best journey my husband and I have ever embarked on.. The journey through the eyes of our gorgeous boy "RJ". |
