| Introduction | Hello! Our names are Becky and Eric. We discovered in June of 2010 we were expecting our first child! In October we found out we were having a sweet baby girl, who we named Avery Grace, and that she was going to be a "small person". She was diagnosed with Achondroplasia. We did discuss the possibilities of it being the fatal form but our perinatologist was sure it wasn't but we had ultrasounds every 3 weeks to make sure she was growing appropriately. On Feb. 9th I gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl! On Feb. 10th we found out she had Thanatophoric Dysplasia, the fatal form of dwarfism. This is our blog to share with you our experiences and to hopefully reach out to other parents who have had to endure this as well. |
