Introduction	I was brought up in a town but have always loved the countryside, so at the earliest opportunity I moved to a small village in the middle of Kent. Being a lover of animals it didn't take long for a menagerie to grow. Firstly the ducks, wow what timewasters they were to watch! Then the chickens came along with the cats and Benji, my heinz 57 rescued dog. He was alsatian x whippet, very nervous because of ill treatment but soon settled into his role as chief helper!! Sadly he was put to sleep and laid to rest on his precious smallholding. Now I have Katie the rescued border collie who is giving me so much love and joy. My love for poultry, but especially for the ducks, meant that my collection of different domestic breeds gradually grew over the months. Then I tried my hand at showing and very soon got the bug, with encouragement from fellow fanciers I took my judging test for waterfowl and now enjoy visiting different poultry club shows with the intention of passing on my knowledge and experience to those just starting out or wanting to learn more. With this blog I hope to share with you the pleasures of keeping and rearing these beautiful and comical birds.
