Introduction | A Brazilian once told me that the problem with Americans is that when begin every introduction with, "My name is [insert name], and I am a [insert profession]." Guilty as charged. I'm a grad student doing ethnographic research in São Paulo. This blog is a record of observations that may not get in the final work, but are interesting anyways. In addition to a love of high theory and a dedicated attention to everyday life, I like public transit and social justice. I like big dogs. Cats are o.k. too. I began balding quite gracefully a couple years ago, and I still have a few years left. And I love turning song lyrics into titles or other clever turns of phrases. Sorry if you find this trait pretentious. For what it's worth, I kind of see your point. |
