| Introduction | For 37 years I served as a wildlife biologist and ranger for the US Forest Service in Michigan, Minnesota, and Alaska. I often encountered problems for which there were no apparent guidance either in my formal education or in government manuals. The resolution of those problems provided the framework for the remainder of my education that continued over the course of my career. |
