Introduction When he was 21 Kit Fraser worked as a coalminer for a year and wrote up the experience in Toff Down Pit (Quartet). He co-founded Scotland's National Writers' Centre at Moniack Mhor, Inverness, run by the Arvon Foundation. He set up the award winning Scottish Traditional Music venue Hootananny, Inverness and London's premier Reggae Music venue: Hootananny, Brixton. He co-founded The Publican Party, a political party dedicated to highlighting the importance of pubs to the community and fought two elections. His new book, The Joy of Talk (Quartet) comes out next Spring.
