Introduction	I have a PhD in theoretical physics and an MA in philosophy and from 1999-2007 I was the Founding Executive Director of Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario. My memoir of my experiences at PI, First Principles - The Crazy Business of Serious Science, was published in April, 2009 by Key Porter Books and features an enjoyable and intriguing foreword by the great Sir Roger Penrose, so you can rest assured that the book contains at least a few pages worth reading.
