Introduction Former CNN Medical Correspondent Andrew Holtz, MPH, is an independent journalist based in Portland, Oregon. He is the author of “The Medical Science of House, M.D.” (2006), “The Real Grey’s Anatomy” (2010), and “House M.D. vs. Reality” (2011). Holtz was Senior News Editor/Anchor at MDiTV.com. He is a reviewer for HealthNewsReview.org. After 17 years as a CNN Correspondent, Holtz has reported for PBS, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and international TV networks. His work has appeared in Harvard University’s Nieman Reports, TV Week, the-scientist.com and elsewhere. He was a Kaiser Family Foundation Media Fellow 1998-99. Holtz served for 11 years on the Board of Directors of the Association of Health Care Journalists (Board President 2000-2004, Interim Executive Director 2004-2005). AHCJ represents more than 1000 journalists who cover health, medicine and the business of health care. Holtz is on the Multnomah County Bicycle and Pedestrian Citizen’s Advisory Committee. He has a BA in Broadcast Communication from Stanford University and a Master’s in Public Health from the Oregon MPH program at Portland State University. Holtz is married and has two children.
