| Introduction | A Genuine Freakshow are a firmly bonded septet brought together in the Reading area from a desire to blend their love of the more experimental edges of post-rock with the melody and traditional songwriting prowess of the likes of band favourites Elbow, Mew and The National. Having started, in their own words, ‘too pop to be challenging’, then swung ‘too post-rock to be fun’, the seven-piece have now found their sweet spot between the two, creating a music that is high on intellect but unafraid of big melodies. |
