IntroductionMeet me.... I'm Shelly. I am a follower of Jesus, wife to my high school sweet heart, stay at home mom to four (almost five) blessings, homeschool teacher to those blessings, budding photographer, and a blogger. I adore (in this order) my God, my man, my kids, my family. I'm a lover of good food, good books, good photographs, a good debate, ice cold Coca Cola, the internet, and late nights. I love cuddle time, long talks, movies that make you cry, music that makes you soar, and my girlfriends. I'm living my dream!
Interestsmy God, my hubby, my kids, reading, singing, blog hopping, listening to my iPod, surfing the web, tv, movies, photography, our family web site...
Favorite moviesWay, way too many to list. But I love romantic comedies like Sweet Home Alabama, classics like Gone With the Wind (I am a southern girl), movies that are based on an historical event or time like Gladiator or Life is Beautiful. I also love a good suspense or laugh out loud comedy. I don't mind dramas as long as the subject is truly something to get dramatic about. And I even love a good western now and then.
Favorite musicMainly contemporary Christian/Worship (Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, Downhere, Tenth Avenue North, Third Day, Toby Mac, SuperChick, Mainstay, Matthew West, Chris Tomlin, etc. etc. etc.) I also like SOME country, old and new (Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, Reba). I love some Harry Connick Jr. or the old big bands like Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman. Classical is good too at times. I love collecting music and I have some of EVERYTHING. I just try to make sure that what I listen to is edifying and doesn't bring shame to my Lord. I'm not perfect, but we do try to be very careful. Music is an awesome tool and it can be used for good or bad.
Favorite booksAnything by Francine Rivers or Beverly Lewis. I love classics by Jane Austen or the Bronte sisters and timeless ones like Little Women. I am reading a parenting book right now and it rocks. (NEVER thought I'd say that back in the day! Ha!) I love inspirational books that spur me on to good works. I love reading the writings of our founding fathers or pastors of the past. I like good political reads. I read Night by Elie Wiesel a while back and I'll never forget it. My taste in books ranges widely like my taste in music does.
