| Introduction | Awhirl: [uh-hwurl, uh-wurl] rotating rapidly; spinning; whirling. “Dancers awhirl to the strains of a lively waltz.” I think that awhirl is the perfect adjective to describe me. Ask my family or a close friend and they’ll be sure to tell you that I’m quite whimsical and day-dreamy. I’ve often been called a hopeless romantic. My mind is always floating from subject to subject, spinning from idea to idea, and whirling in general! When I hear the word “awhirl” I picture dancers twirling around joyfully, or brightly colored autumn leaves chasing the wind. It has a sense of excitement and optimism, and since I’m a bit of a cockeyed optimist I think it’s a fitting title. Awhirl is how I would like to be able to describe my relationship with Jesus Christ. I think that we, as Christians, are called to be constantly growing and “rotating rapidly” if you will. My walk with the Lord should always be progressing and changing, rapidly spinning and gathering momentum day-to-day. I’m called to have a heart awhirl to the strains of God’s magnificent and indescribable love for me, and this is my attempt to keep track of what God is teaching me, and of what is going in my life in general! |
