Introduction	My name is Abe. After working for almost 20 years in scientific research in molecular biology and protein chemistry (including crystallization of the 50s ribosomal subunit from halobacteria marismortui. These crystals were later improved and were used to solve the structure of the ribosome. This discovery by Yonath et al was awarded on the 7 October 2009 with the Nobel prize in chemistry). I started a career as a medical writer in a large pharmaceutical company where I write up the results of clinical trials and prepare other documents for submission to health authorities. I have always had a strong interest in science and have assembled quite a collection of popular science books. My idea of a great evening would be sharing drinks with a group of friends and arguing all night about science issues, philopsophy, ethics, and history. I hope to meet some like minded people by writing this blog. Let's see how this goes.
