| Introduction | Husband of Roberta, father of Katie and Ben, grandfather to Owen, Piper, Jack and Logan. That's the important stuff. It's now been many years since I was paid to write full-time. I am among the lucky few who actually had his "dream job" -- a three-decade career as a newspaper sportswriter that was capped by an 11-year run as a Chicago columnist. I didn't like the way it ended -- laid off at age 48 -- but I wouldn't have traded my experience for anything. Having been fortunate enough to invest well during a raging bull market, I now live a darn good, retired life in Charlotte, N.C. I am a personal finance writer at DailyTradeAlert.com and SeekingAlpha.com; I am the middle school girls basketball coach at Socrates Academy, an outstanding public charter school; and I officiate youth sports. Oh, and every once in awhile -- when I feel like writing for free (which isn't very often any more), I post here on The Baldest Truth. I'm a very lucky man. |
